Submissions

The Diaper is currently taking submissions from darling writers like you! It takes a village to raise a kid, so why not a comedy website? Please send all submissions and questions to info@thediaper.net. Before submitting, here are some guidelines to keep in mind:

  • We are looking for articles on the topics of babies, kids and parenting. Think of what you would see on parenting websites like BabyCenter, The Bump or Scary Mommy but satirized in the vein of ClickHole, Reductress or McSweeney’s.

  • Articles should generally be between 400 and 600 words. We are not accepting articles longer than 750 words at this time.

  • When submitting, please cut and paste the article into the body of the email. Be sure to lease include your proposed article title, your name and a link to a website of your work you’d like to promote (Twitter, Instagram, your website, etc.).

  • Please attach any corresponding pictures or graphics that go along with your work. Submit only images you have permission to use.

  • If your work has a timely element to it (for example, it mentions a recent news story or needs to be published around a certain holiday), please put TIMELY in the subject line. We will expedite your response.

  • For serious consideration, articles should largely be in their final form and in need of no more than minor copy-editing.

  • Please submit only original, previously unpublished work.

  • Please submit only one piece at a time.

  • The Diaper pays upon publication as agreed upon by us and the freelancer. We currently offer $20 per published article.

Please allow up to one week for response. If we have not responded (sorry, we are busy parents), please feel free to contact us again. Thank you for your interest! We love you!
